Consuming Booze On A Plane: Alcohol Amateurs Ruining It For Us Cool People

The Nightlife Blogger Bashes Idiots Who Don’t Know How To Be Discreet

Leave it to a few idiots ruining a good thing for all of us cool people.

A bunch of alcohol amateurs are taking their own booze onto the plane since airlines are not serving it anymore in coach during the COVID-19 era.

They are bringing it on on board and opening up mini bottles they bought from a liquor store or elsewhere and are pouring it into sodas and other beverages served on the plane and doing this right in front of the flight attendants.

It has become so prevalent that Southwest Airlines now includes this in its pre-flight announcements: “It is also prohibited to consume alcohol that you’ve brought.”

It is not illegal to bring alcohol into an airport or onto a plane; to get through security you just have to be sure it’s not more than the 3.4 ounces allowed by TSA. That’s about the size of a mini-bottle, which you can buy in many liquor stores. Some passengers are also bringing on drinks from airport bars, which has long been waved off by gate agents.

Geez folks, you have to be discreet! For cryin’ out loud, pour it in a drink BEFORE you get on the plane. Do it in the airplane’s bathroom. Anywhere else other than in plain sight of a flight attendant! And don’t try and walk on the plane with drinks like margaritas, beers or other obvious alcoholic beverages.

These are the fools who ruin things for those of us who are cool enough to do such things without drawing attention to ourselves. Which, in turn, gets the attention of authorities and all of a sudden strict rules and regulations and inspections are in put in place and what was once a silly little harmless activity becomes a heavily restricted activity.

They are the ones who go to festivals or events in which alcohol is technically not allowed by tolerated by officials because the cool people don’t flaunt it and hold up a bottle for everyone to see and yell out “whooooo – look what I’m drinking!”

The next thing you know, there are strict checkpoints and patdowns and stern warnings to people about what will happen to them if they are caught brining in or consuming any alcohol.

This is about to happen to air travelers as all the airlines are now going to be on high alert for booze breakers. It won’t result in the same punishment as not wearing a mask, but it sure takes away a nice little unofficial perk of air travel.
