The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games are Feb 6-22 and there are many places to go and things to do at and all around it.
And if you are there, while in the neighborhood swing by the Olympic Museum in nearby Lausanne, Switzerland. There is a direct train between Milan and Lausanne that takes about 3 1/2 hours. Easy!
The Olympic Museum is just what it sounds like it might be: a museum dedicated to the history of the Games. It has all kinds of memorabilia from every Olympic Games since 1896. Some of the more interesting ones are old skates used by figure skaters and hockey players – in fact, all the equipment used by the athletes from decades ago really makes you appreciate what they were able to accomplish, especially when compared to what is used by today’s Olympians – and the various Olympic medals and torches through the years. It’s really cool to see the changes in designs. There are a lot of interactive exhibits, as well.

Specifically for the Milano Games, the Olympic Museum has innovative programs – mostly free of charge – combining sport, culture, big-screen viewings and immersive experiences. Everyday, the public will be able to see the following:
• An immersive bobsleigh experience – get “transported” to the Cortina d’Ampezzo track, with the IBSF and OMEGA
• An exhibition on the Alibaba Cloud “Your Epic Vibe” AI video challenge
• The “Your strength – your balance” interactive experience, with the UNIL/EPFL Service Sport Santé
• The “Let’s Move: Get Active!” space to try out some fun sporting challenges as a family
The Olympic Museum is open every day from 6 to 22 February (with the exception of 9 February), from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. The public is invited to watch the competitions in the restaurant and the Art Lounge; visit the permanent exhibition and the “Ahead of the Curve” temporary exhibition on a century of innovation at the Olympic Games; and discover the “Via Azzurra”, showcasing Italy’s wealth of Olympic heritage. The restaurant will be offering a selection of Italian-themed dishes, and the Olympic Museum Shop will have a range of exclusive Milano Cortina 2026 merchandise.
There are even ski apres parties, ideal for the PubClubber in you at the Olympic Museum restaurant:
• ELECTRO – Winter Pulse (7 February)
• DISCO: Nuit Transalpine (14 February)
• POP – MCM Top – 2000 Italian Fever (21 February)
