Now That I’m Used To Wearing A Mask The CDC Recommends Double Masking

Preventing The Spread Of COVID-19 Just Got A Little Tougher

It took almost a year, but I have finally gotten kind of used to wearing a mask.

And I’m proud of it, too.

I don’t like it, never have liked it, but I have adapted to the COVID-19 situation and no longer dread putting a cover over my mouth and nose. Life is all about adjusting to changing circumstance and we all know that not everything goes our way in life.

But now, a curveball has been thrown at us. The Center For Disease Control (CDC) now says we should be wearing two masks.

In February it confirmed what many medical experts have speculated since the new strains were discovered and that is that wearing two masks is better at preventing the spread of the coronavirus than wearing just one. The CDC also reported that a tight-fitting mask fit is important and significantly protects people from the spread of COVID-19 germs.

Two masks!?

Oh, man. I just put on two masks to try it out for breathability and comfort, and it’s really neither. I mean it wasn’t that bad – suffocating bad – but it is certainly no breath of fresh air, either.

Hopefully this will not turn into a requirement by the airlines. It’s tough enough to go on a long flight, with the waiting in airports, to wear one mask for several hours at a time. (Right now, it’s simply a recommendation by the CDC and will probably stay that way.)

But look, if I have to do it, then I will do it, of course. After all, I adapted to wearing one mask and can eventually get used to wearing two. I just want to end this thing as soon as possible and I’ll contribute in any small way I can do it.

Tho what I really want is to get the vaccine. Hopefully that will happen soon.

Happy travels!
