To launch a year-long celebration of one of the city’s most proudest achievements, Knoxville, TN, is holding an opening ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 5 to mark the 40th anniversary of the World’s Fair.
Visit Knoxville has partnered with the City of Knoxville and Knox County to build out the World’s Fair 40th Anniversary Celebration to take place throughout 2022.
Below are the details which includes the special guests, the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses.

The Sunday announcement continues the Sunsphere Sundays theme Visit Knoxville promotes via social media and mimics the timeline in 1982 when the Clydesdales were in Knoxville in November 1981 to mark the official kickoff (photo above).

Visit Knoxville will have Sunsphere items from the Visitor Center gift shop for sale on site. Proceeds from the sale of these items help support the Sunsphere Fund.
