Music, Light Show And Complimentary Cocktails In The Fashion District
The reason I don’t go to a lot of film festivals – and I get invited to quite a few – is that they really don’t have much of a socializing aspect to them.
Oh, I did have a few Stella Artois with the director, cast members and others at the Beverly Hills Film Festival last year and while it was nice and also pretty cool, it wasn’t exactly a grand celebration.
No, what I wanted was a PARTY!
And if that’s what you want, too, after watching an independent flick, then the Downtown Film Festival Los Angeles has that covered. On Saturday night, July 13, it is putting on a party, complete with dancing and DJs, at The Well in the Fashion District.
The party takes place after the Los Angeles premiere screening of “Paladar,” a documentary about a famous downtown pop-up restaurant that “swept L.A. foodie culture,” in the words of the festival.
At The Well, a light show will complement house and electro music by DJ Cabrillo and rock & roll by DJ Orion. There’s also live music and, get this, complimentary beer (I noticed Stella Artois is a sponsor, by the way), cocktails and beverages.
Better yet, it’s all open to the public and costs just $20.
The Well is a downtown lifestyle-retail-event space located within a 19th century warehouse on the edge of the Fashion District. It’s address is 1005 S. Olive St. Phone: (213) 550-4448.
