Topanga Canyon is an ideal place to host a reggae festival in L.A.

It makes sense that there would be at reggae festival in LA’s Topanga Canyon.

The two go together like dreadlocks and Jamaicans and guitars and guitar strings. Topanga Canyon is the lost-in-time 60’s hippie hangout in the Malibu canyons, a place more laid back than even Southern California’s famous beaches.

This is the 4th annual Reggae ‘Pon The Mountain, and it’s taking place Saturday, July 27 at the Topanga Community Club. It’s a full day of music, great beer from Shock Top and Stella Artois, food and reggae merchandise from vendors.

The bands inlude roots music with Jamaican reggae sensation Anthony B.,  British reggae icon Pato Banton and his “The Now Generation” band and LA’s all-star reggae band The Lions.

“We’re extremely thrilled and blessed to be able to bring the 4th Annual Reggae ‘Pon The Mountain to the greater Los Angeles area,” said Amit Gilad, co-producer of Reggae ‘Pon the Mounain. “Each year the festival grows in tremendous and magical ways and people from all over the world come to enjoy the positive vibrations. This year we have more in store than ever before, including Pato Baton’s last US performance which will be a mind-blowing, feel-good experience for everyone in attendance.”

The event goes from 10 a.m–7p.m.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and children under 12 are free.

Parking is free and complimentary shuttle service is available along Topanga Canyon Blvd.
