What is wildly popular in Las Vegas – VIP access to the city’s nightclubs – is opening the ropes to bars in The Big Apple.
Take Me Out provides tours to tourists and locals so you are not all dressed up not with nowhere to go because of lines and/or discriminating doormen.
“What makes us stand out is that we take our guests to exclusive places,” said founder Ori Mor. “These are places you can’t get in without a reservation. It definitely has a VIP feel.”
Somehow, I get the feeling he’s experienced what I have in Vegas, and that’s having a plan for going out with your friends and seeing it fall apart when you walk up and there’s a huge line to get into a happening club. Then you are left standing there, looking absentmindedly at each other wondering what to to next.
Take Me Out Tours has five tours and also does custom events, which is great for bachelor, bachlorette, birthday parties or special other special occasions. There’s an average three stops and the cost is from $100-$150 per person. Your drinks in the bar are extra, of course, but you are getting into bars, a ride in a limo and drinks in route, so that’s a pretty good deal.
Tours run most nights of the week, starting as early as 5 p.m., with most starting around 9 p.m.

• The Mixology tour. It includes two charted limos with guides who make up drinks along the way, with stops at some of NYC’s trendy bars.
• The Prohibition Tour. This one is right up my alley! It takes you back to the 1920’s to the secret bars and hidden speakeasies throughout the city, some of which feature burlesque and jazz shows during the week. This one has champagne in the limo and the guide tells you the history about each bar on the stop.
• Nightclub Tour. This one is for the girls. And the guys who follow the girls. It hits the dance clubs.
