Local Wines Are Paired With Napa & Sonoma Selections
First of all, congratulations to Jack’s Restaurant and Lounge in Monterey (CA)’s Portola Hotel for having won a Wine Spectator award for its wines.
Jacks Restaurant & Lounge has undergone a complete overhaul of its wine list within the last two years. The wine program includes a selection of eclectic wines that are primarily from Monterey County and the Central Coast, as well as Napa Valley and Sonoma.
“We vastly improved our wine room, installed new wine racks and purchased several wine refrigerators in order to serve our wines at the best possible temperatures,” said Sonny Petersson, Portola Hotel & Spa’s Food and Beverage Director.
“Our wine program is constantly evolving at Portola Hotel & Spa, which makes for an exciting place for both locals and visitors to dine.”
PubClub.com loves Jack’s. It’s a cozy lounge with a fireplace ideally suited to its surroundings, subtle and beautiful Monterey Bay. It also extends into the Portolo’s lobby with where you can sink into a comfortable chair with glass of its wine by your side.
It’s a great spot for Happy Hour 4-6 daily with $4 house wines and half off its cheese plate. There’s also live music Fridays and Saturdays.
Each Friday there is also a complimentary wine reception from 4-5.
The restaurant also has a Sunday buffet brunch with bottomless mimosas.
