As such, you want to date girls who are in your mental wheelhouse. The thought of settling for older women has not quite settled into your mindset. You want to go out with girls younger than you.
And with that in mind, here are PubClub.com’s dating tips for men in their 50s who want to date younger girls. By younger girls, we mean girls in their 20s and 30s. These are answers to your dating questions and concerns.
But first, check out this hilarious song from the Keith Fowler Band. It’s called “Fake I.D.”
Is There Anything Wrong With Wanting To Date Younger Girls?
This is likely to be one of the first questions you will ask yourself. And the answer is: of course not!
If that’s what you want, then go for it. You don’t need approval of any friends – and many your age, particularly the women – will criticize it. But you are not dating to satisfy them, you are dating to satisfy yourself.
Always keep that in mind.
Tip #1: It’s Mind Over Matter
A friend in his 50s who dates younger girls looks at it this way: “it’s mind over matter. If she doesn’t mind then it doesn’t matter.”
That is so true.
Tip #2: Go To Where The Girls Are
It stands to reason that if you want to date younger girls then go to places where you can find them. These include lively bars, concerts and wine/beer festivals. The latter are particularly ripe for dating candidates. Just don’t go charging after them the first thing; wait a while to let them settle into the event.
Young girls go to nightclubs because they love to dance but the crowds and noise in them make these difficult places to strike up conversations. So don’t look to them as great places to meet girls.
Tip #3: Don’t Use Dating Apps To Date Young Girls
Oh sure there’s some catered to a younger audience, such as Tinder, but generally girls want to go out and have fun. If you go to Bumble or some other apps, you won’t find hardly any girls under 35 on them. Why? They are out at the bars!
Tip #4: Pickup Lines Don’t Work
Leave the cheesy pickup lines back with your suit and ties. Girls don’t like them and they don’t work anyway.
Just be yourself and strike up a conversation based on what is around you: it could be a song the band or DJ is playing, trying to get a drink in a crowded bar or something she is wearing like a neckless or earrings. Girls love compliments on what they are wearing.
Tip #5: Don’t Dress Like An Old Man
What you wear has a lot to do with getting a girl’s attention. So don’t dress your age. Note what guys in their 30s are wearing to the bars and adjust your wardrobe accordingly.
Always wear nice shoes – girls are impressed with good shoes – and they like big watches. Girls are attracted to big watches like moths to a light and that’s one area where age can work in your favor. It shows you are successful and girls like to be around a “provider,” someone they feel has financial security.
Another tip is to wear sunglasses whenever possible. The hide the wrinkles on your forehead and around your eyes and are worth 10+ years off your perceived life. Make sure the shades are cool ones. Different colors even on cheap sunglasses are more than acceptable. They help you stand out from the crowd and show you are cool and can relate to the younger audience.
Tip #6: Don’t Talk Like An Old Man
If there’s one thing that will turn off a young girl it’s talking about the “good ‘ol days” or mentioning old movies, TV shows or anything else that will make her think that you’re too old for her.
Keep track of current trends, social media (young girls don’t to Facebook because their parents are on it so think Instagram and TikTok) and other “modern” things.
Also, asking for phone numbers is old. A better move is to ask to take a picture and send it to her phone or put it on Instagram and tag her.
Bingo!
Tip #7: Don’t Buy Them Drinks To Try And Impress Them
This is a HUGE difference in young girls and older women. The latter kind of expect you to buy them drinks (it’s a test of your financial success) while young girls don’t really care. If you buy them a bunch of drinks they will suck them down, of course, but they will look at you as a rich, old dude and you have no chance to date them.
It’s okay to say “let me buy you a drink” in the normal course of conversation but don’t be their sugar daddy.
Tip #8: Go Out With A Wingman Or Wingwoman
This is pretty much the case no matter your age – you stand a much better chance of meeting girls if you have a friend with you.
If it’s a dude, make sure he has the same desires as you. If not, he can be like an anchor dragging you to the bottom of the singles sea.
The best wingman is actually a wingwoman. She can provide you with that invaluable women’s perspective of things. She can pick out the right girl to approach, create the opening line and, whenever the conversation stalls, keep things moving in a positive direction.
Girls love security – for good reason, too – and having a girl with you shows them that other girls like you enough to go to bat for you and that establishes a solid comfort zone for you.
Tip #9: You Have To Dance – And Sing Karaoke
Girls love to dance and sing karaoke. Even if you’re not in a nightclub they want to dance. If there’s a karaoke night in a local bar, go there and if you’re on a date with a young girl, be prepared to sing. With her and solo, too.
To have any chance with them, you are going to have to do these things.
Let’s examine dancing. If there’s a dance floor – no matter the size – in a bar with a DJ or band they will want to dance. Sometimes they will grab your hand and pull you out to the dance floor or sometimes you may have to say “hey, want to dance!?”
Either way, do it. The girls won’t stop at one song, either. They will go on for two, three, four or even five songs. If you lose interest they will sense it and your chances of dating drop to zero. Hang in there. After a while you can say, “hey let’s go get another drink” or something along those lines to get them back to the bar.
Regardless, if you want to date younger girls, get your ass in shape.
