LA Galaxy Championship Party Provides This Excuse
Just when I thought it was safe to stay at home – spend a quiet evening with mindless TV on the background while adding articles to this blog and PubClub.com – then another event comes up that will have me back out on the Hermosa Beach Pier.
And the bars.
Blame the LA Galaxy!
The MLS soccer team won the league championship and decided to follow in the LA Kings footsteps from a few months earlier and have a championship party on the Hermosa Beach Pier.
It’s just the latest events this Los Angeles beach community has hosted in 2014, the others being a Kings parade that went right down The Strand along the beach, World Cup viewing parties and, topper of them all, a free Jimmy Buffett concert his past summer on the beach.
And that’s just the official events. There’s always something going on in the South Bay, be it someone’s birthday party (and here that means 20 or so people going to a restaurant and then a bar), a pub crawl, a friend’s band is playing, there’s a big house party or some crazy event like Smackfest.
So even when we TRY to be good here and act like the rest of the country, we can’t because heck, there’s a party!
Of course, we are not complaining. That’s why we live here in the first place!
