Girls To Be Judged In After-5 Dresses And Swimwear In Preliminary Round
Nice-looking girls are nothing new to American Junkie in Hermosa Beach, CA. But how many of them get the chance to go on to be the next Miss Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach?
But on Thursday, March 14, four of them will get that chance. They are competing in a preliminary round of the pageant and American Junkie is hosting the event. The event involves the girls walking a runway in After-5 wardrobe and swimwear before a panel of judges, comprised of sponsors, past Miss Grand Prix girls and a Grand Prix representative.
The public is invited and it’s free. It starts at 7 p.m., which is perfect because it’s right after Happy Hour ends. Talk about a great way to start St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Hermosa Beach!
The Miss Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is a pageant involving Southern California girls who, once at the race, get to be on the grid for the IndyCar and Toyota Pro/Celebrity race, get onto the podium with the drivers after the IndyCar race, get taken to cocktail parties and spend the three days of the event bouncing around it meeting fans, sponsors and drivers in their distinctive grid suits.
There are three girls chosen for race weekend: The winner, first runner-up and second runner-up. They are joined by past winners and runners-up and get to experience the Grand Prix from a perspective that is not available to any spectator.
These preliminary rounds are comprised of 10 girls; from that, four are chosen to go to the Finals, which will be held Thursday, April 18, as part of the block party on Pine Ave. The Grand Prix is April 19-21.
Another preliminary event will be held Thursday, April 4, at the Mai Tai bar in Long Beach (above Bubba Gump across from the Aquarium of the Pacific).
