McFadden’s, Whiskey Girl And Lucky Bastard Saloon Bring Beers And Cheers

What better way to get primed up for the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival – which includes fine Belgian beers, as well – than to tag along with a promo night for Stella Artois in the bars of the Gaslamp!?
Not much that I can think of, quite frankly. And so I did it on Thursday night. And it proved to be the perfect warmup for a weekend of great beer, quality wines and the kind of food that I don’t exactly get in the bars I frequent. And great people!
I met the promo team at McFadden’s, a way-cool Irish bar. I had not been there before but it’s huge, has tons of TVs that show all kinds of sports plus there’s a stage for live bands. This is a place I want to go back to on a busy weekend night or to watch sports.

From there, we went to Whiskey Girl, which is one of the most happening bars on busy 5th Avenue, the main street of nightlife in the Gaslamp.
Then we went to a new place – new for me, anyway – called The Lucky Bastard. And let me say if you are in there for a big sports event then you are indeed a lucky bastard. It has enough TVs to show everything you want and go up a flight of stairs to big booths where there’s a first-class beer pong table. There is also live music. It’s owned by a former Playboy Playmate, too!
So now bring on the San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival. I’m ready. Just excuse me if I drink more beer like Stella Artois than wine.
Cheers!
