Topics Include World’s Top Events, Bars, Nightlife, Cocktails & Happy Hours
Called “TheNightlifeChat, it covers a wide range of topics devoted to bars and nightlife, while also expanding into beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, tailgate parties and festivals (think music and beer & wine festivals).
The chat takes place the second and fourth Thursday of each month. The next chat is April 20 and the topic is beach bars!
The time is 4:30 p.m., Pacific Time (7:30 p.m. ET). To participate, simply type in the hashtag #TheNightlifeChat into the Twitter search bar at the designated time. It occurs twice a month on the first and third Thursday of the month and lasts for 30 minutes. It will eventually be extended to a weekly chat.
The first few chats have resulted in more than five million social media impressions.
Created by the website PubClub.com, which blends nightlife with travel, it is designed to discuss a wide range of topics within the bar and nightlife industry with industry executives, bartenders, bar managers, DJs, bands, event promoters and, well, pubclubbers.
“I participate in several Twitter chats a week on a wide range of subjects – travel, food, wine, social media marketing – but previous to this there was no chat devoted to bars and nightlife,” said Kevin Wilkerson of PubClub.com who hosts the chat.
“This fills that void. And its really goes beyond just nightlife and bars; we discuss pretty much everything where you can have a drink in your hand – music festivals, concerts, tailgate parties, party buses and more.
“PubClub welcomes anyone interested in these subject matters to join the chat and to become a regular participant.”
Twitter chats are a great way to connect with other people from around the world on a friendly, open platform that welcomes feedback and input from participants. Previous chats have been on New Year’s Eve, Ski Resorts Ski Apres and Super Bowl and Oscars parties.
