LA Nightlife To Get A Boost From Popular Restaurant-Bar

The taps are in place, the kegs are in their chilled home and the staff is being trained.
The Yard House in Marina del Rey, CA, is preparing for its opening on June 2.
The location on Maxella Ave., a block up from Lincoln Blvd., has a patio and a very open layout. And, in true Yard House tradition, there’s lots and lots of beer – 140 on tap, in fact. There is also a chalk board of five hard-to-get beers that will rotate monthly.
Already, it’s highly popular among locals. So just wait until it opens.
“With all the residences around here, the foot traffic of people coming in asking about it is the most I’ve ever seen,” said Area General Manager and Bar Manager Noah Brown. “That has me really excited. Most guests have been to a Yard House at one of our other locations, so they know what they are getting when they come through the door which is a fun environment with a large selection of beers and very good food.”

There are a lot of high-rise condos and fairly new apartment buildings within a couple blocks of Yard House, so it has an instant potential customer base.
There’s little doubt it’s going to be an instant winner because, as Brown mentioned, people are already familiar with the Yard House but also there’s little other places for young, fun singles to hang out in Marina del Rey. Fisherman’s Village is a wasteland and while the Cheesecake Factory has a great bar location overlooking a lagoon, it’s really more of a special occasion location than a regular destination. The same goes for The Warehouse.
There is, of course, Tony P’s on the water with its own share of several beer taps, and it’s also tapped into the University of Florida to be the Gator chomp watching place for alumni during college football Saturdays. Don’t be surprised to see alumni groups of other schools, as well as NFL teams, start to call the Yard House home in the fall.
The Yard House could also be the prefect warmup to the Thursday night turtle races at Brennan’s down the street.
And if people can find it – you have go to through a hole in the fence, through a Ralph’s parking lot and cross busy Lincoln Blvd. – then those using the bike path for bicycle rides through MDR can stop in for a cold one (or two) as a break in their journey between Venice/Santa Moncia and Playa del Rey/South Bay. The area through the Marina is currently a drought of such places. Now, there’s no drought but drafts!
The Yard House is open 11,a.m.-1, a.m., with last call extending on Fridays and Saturday until 1:20 a.m. And here’s a bonus: the restaurant will be open until 12:30 during the week and on weekends until 1 a.m.
Happy Hour is Monday-Friday 3-5 p.m., and there’s a reverse Happy Hour Sunday-Wednesday from 10 p.m.-close. Happy Hour beers range in price from $3.50-$7.25 (for price comparison’s sake, the regular price of a Bud Light draft is $4.25), it’s $2 off mixed drinks, martinis which regularly cost around $11 are $6.50, and “90 percent” of appetizers are half off, according to the very excited Brown.
Marina del Rey and Venice residents will soon be as excited by this Yard House location as is Brown.
