The Basement Makes Offer During Football Team’s Games

Here’s a cheers to free beers.
Even if the team doesn’t win.
The Basement bar in Orlando, FL, has the best promotion of a bar in college football and is actually giving away free beer during games.
It started it because the home team, normally competitive Central Florida, the team that produced Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Brett Bortles just – is 0-3. This includes an embarrassing loss to Furman.
This Saturday, the Knights face Temple, which is 1-2, with its win coming against Penn State.
FREE BEER UNTIL UCF WINS
This is what a promotional poster proclaims, “because we need something to be excited about,” it continues.
The beer is American lager including a pretty good one, Yuengling. It will be free from after kickoff until the end of game game. And it will continue each week until the team wins a game.
“We have taken great pride in the team and we very much consider ourselves a UCF bar, as we’re operated and staffed by graduates and even some current students,” Jake Whitacre, the bar’s marketing director and UCF alumni, told ESPN.
One does have to wonder if fans – and tourists and residents who are not UCF fans – will starting rooting against the nights so the free beer can continue into the season.
After all, you’ll have to be a diehard fan to want it to win over getting free beer.
And if the Knights DO win, The Basement is a good place for drinks anyway. It has $15 beer buckets on Saturdays. Plus $3 shots every day.
It’s located at the corner of Pine & Magnolia in downtown Orlando.
I really wish I would’ve known about this back then. I definitely would’ve taken advantage of the free beer. I’ve been following the site for a little while now and was wondering if y’all ever review any West Palm Beach bars? I live down here and would love your to hear your opinion of some of our bars. We definitely have some good ones like Roxy’s and Copper Blues.
Is ER Bradley’s still happening? Bars on Clematis Street? I’ll have to re-post a previous article – we’ve re-designed the site and not all articles have been transferred – and have you take a look at it. Would love your contributions! Glad you’ve been following PubClub.com. Make sure you follow us on Twitter, too (@pubclub). Cheers!
