WHAT: A salute to the great American novelist in the town where he once lived; this is a 6-day festival centered around the birthday of “Papa” (July 21) including a “Running Of The Bulls” and the famous look-alike contest.
MAIN EVENTS: Meet The Papas, past look-alike winners– July 19 (5 p.m., Sloppy Joe’s); Look-Alike Contest Round 1– July 20 (6:30 p.m., Sloppy Joe’s; $30 to enter, free to watch); Sloppy Joe’s Papa’s Birthday Party (5:30 p.m., Sloppy Joe’s); Look-Alike Contest Round 2– July 20 (6:30 p.m., Sloppy Joe’s; $30 to enter, free to watch); Running Of The Bulls – July 22 (1 p.m., Greene Street by Sloppy Joe’s).
THE SCENE: Mostly an older crowd of mostly men but fun none-the-less and everyone is welcome to join the party. Actually, make that a plural, as in parties.
