Casa Bacardi Tour Reopens In San Juan Puerto Rico After Hurricane Maria

Rum Is Flowing Again In Wake Of Damage

After being closed in the wake of Hurricane Maria, the Bacardi rum tour is back open in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The location is known as Casa Bacardi and torus take place Tuesday thru Sunday. They start during the week at 9 a.m., and noon on Saturdays and Sundays, with the last tour starting at 4:30 p.m.

There are three tours, the standard Historical Tour, the Rum Tasting Tour and a Mixology Tour. They are not free and here’s a breakdown of each:

• Historical Tour. This is the one most people take and the one PubClub.com took while in San Juan. It takes you through the history of the family and company. You get a rum drink at the outdoor bar. Cost: $15

• Rum Tasting Tour. A smaller, more personal tour (including the historical tour) with a cocktail and tasting of five rums. Cost: $50

• Mixology Tour. Hands-on bartending experience where you make the cocktails. Cost: $60.

The factory is actually not in San Juan; to get there you take a ferry from the Old Town terminal, then a taxi (or Uber) to the site.
