‘Everything Will Help’ Bar Owner Says In Message

Like a torn spinnaker flapping in the wind, the British Virgin Islands are in tatters after Hurricane Irma.

The islands are in desperate need of basic supplies. The owner of Myett’s in Cane Garden Bay, Val Rhymer, has sent out a plea for assistance. Here is her message.

Please get the message out to all you know to help.  There is severe devastation and destruction.  Hold fundraisers, share, do charity events.  Everything will help. 

The BVI has no electricity, water, or infrastructure due to Hurricane Irma. Completely devastated with the loss of people’s lives, dreams, and aspirations.  We are trying to get those out that need to leave.  Especially the children.

Adopt a Child:  Sponsor an airline ticket for a child that needs to go elsewhere and does not have the means.  They have been traumatized severely and need to get to a place where they can have a normal life and a school to go to.  Many are from down island and the families do not have the means to afford a ticket.  Email to val@myetts.com.

Send Needed Survival Supplies to the Community

You can help by sending supplies. We are organizing a container so all donations will be shipped at the same time. So, please send ASAP.  Once received we will make sure to distribute to all in Cane Garden Bay and others who need it. Home Depot, Costco, Lowes, Kmart, Walmart, Target will ship to Tropical but Amazon has been dicey. You can order from Amazon but be sure to give shipping instructions to only deliver 9-4 Mon-Fri and be sure to send the invoice or receipt to me by a scanned copy with the order number and tracking number. Email to val@myetts.com.

Important!!!! Be sure that sending items to Tropical that there is an official looking invoice or receipt in an envelope on the outside of the box for customs. You can type one up if you are sending used items.  Include a heading with your name & address, contents, and estimated value and used donations.
