Britain is once again “banking” on a big-time finish to the summer and lasting well into the fall. Here is a rundown of the top food, drink and music events taking place, including the annual three-day celebration known as the Bank Holiday.
Bank Holiday – Aug. 24-27
Bank holidays in Britain are when banks are closed by royal proclamation. It’s a three-day holiday, much like Labor Day Weekend and other three-day holidays in the USA.
Creamfields Music Festival – Aug. 24-27
One of the world’s largest dance music festival takes place in Daresbury, Cheshire near to Liverpool and Manchester. The 2023 headliners include Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Tiësto, Diplo and Martin Garrix. It is a huge outdoor event that started in 1998 and sells out each year. Spirit of Speyside Distilled: Food & Drink Festival, Speyside, Scotland – September 1 & 2
Mome to more than half of all of Scotland’s distilleries this even features samples from heritage-rich, expert distilleries alongside innovative and new distillers in a festival that will allow you to learn from the experts with workshops and tastings. Newtown Food Festival Newtown, Wales – September 2-3

Scottish Wild Food Festival, Glasgow, Scotland – September 16-17

Buxton Beer Festival Peak District, England (October 7-8)

Falmouth Oyster Festival Cornwall, England (October 12-15)
To celebrate the start of oyster dredging season, this event has live cooking demonstrations, classic Cornish food staples, and oysters and seafood bars to your heart’s content.
