PubClub.com knows this first hand, for we took a bike ride through the countyside on the island of Korcula and stopped at Bire Winery for a refreshing break. So yes, bike riding is popular in Croatia. As proof, all you need to do is see all the locals on bikes. A lot of tourists enjoy biking there, too, for according to the European Cyclists’ Federation, cycling tourism generates more than €44 billion annually in Europe. There are more than 2.3 billion cycling trips taken each year.

Zadar Region

This September, Croatia will host one of the world’s most beloved cycling events for the very first time: the NOVA Eroica Istria – Truffle Tour. Bringing the iconic Eroica cycling brand to Croatia, this event celebrates vintage cycling traditions with a modern twist—embracing the global gravel cycling phenomenon.
Rooted in the beauty of northwestern Istria, the ride winds through picturesque towns like Grožnjan, Motovun, and Buje, following the historic Parenzana Trail. Riders can choose from three scenic routes—60 km, 100 km, or 150 km—each combining Istria’s breathtaking landscapes with local flavors, including its renowned truffles and wines.
