When one goes to Mexico, it’s a given you’ll be having tequila drinks. That’s like having wine in France, beer in Germany, rum in the Caribbean.
But not every tequila drink in Mexico is your basic margarita. Here’s two unique tequila cocktails – with the recipes – at a pair of Mexican resorts, Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences, an upscale all-inclusive resort in Cabo San Lucas and Pierre Mundo Imperial in Acapulco.
Luz de Agave

Patrón Silver Tequila- 2oz
Cream of cassis- 1 oz
Cranberry juice- 1 oz
Lemon juice- 1/2 oz
Plain syrup- 1/2 oz
Rosemary
Dehydrated cucumber
Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake lightly. Serve in an Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with a small bouquet of rosemary and a dehydrated cucumber.
The South Margarita

1/2 oz. of Tequila Liqueur
1 1/2 oz. Mixture of Lemon and Lime Juice
1 1/2 oz. simple syrup
Splash of Whiskey
Twists of orange peel, and lime and lemon peelings
grasshopper salt
2 margarita flowers

Mix the tequila reposado, tequila liqueur, lemon and lime juice, simple syrup and twists from orange, lemon and lime in a chilled shaker.Shake the mix prominently, pour the whiskey into your glass, and then pour the contents of the shaker using the strainer.
