Bluesapalooza brings live music and craft beer to Mammoth in August.

When the snow melts, the festivals heat up at Mammoth Mountain.

No longer a winter-only destination in California’s Sierra Nevadas, Mammoth is becoming a summertime party place with festivals nearly every weekend. There’s events featuring food & wine, craft beers and margaritas.

It’s all highlighted by a beer & music festival called Bluesapalooza. Here’s a rundown of the top summertime events involving food, drink and/or music.

Mammoth Food & Wine Experience Information

Dates: July 14 & 15
Tickets: $99 for Grand Tasting; tickets also available for other events

A two-day food & wine festival featuring Saturday’s Grand Tasting, which has 100 wines from more than 20 wineries and food from restaurants, including

Angel’s Restaurant, Whitebark, Red Lantern, Jimmy’s Taverna, Mammoth Rock Brasserie, and Lakefront.

It takes place in the Edison Pavilion at the Mammoth Campus of Cerro Coso Community College

Mammoth Festival Of Beers & Bluesapalooza Information

Tickets: $165 (includes music & beers)

The party highlight of the summer in Mammoth, it involves three days of bands and more than 60 craft breweries (beers are included with admission). On Saturday, there are six bands on two stages.

This event takes place in the Village so if you are staying in or near the Village, you can walk to it (and, more importantly, walk back from it).

If you’re single and are wondering which event to go to in Mammoth this summer, this is the one for you.

Mexico in Mammoth? Well why not, and with Latin music and margarita tastings, who’s to argue, right? There’s salsa, flamenco and Latin jazz & rock music.
