What’s happening in Hermosa Beach for Cinco de Mayo?
Well here’s one thing – a pub crawl with Kona Brewing Co.
Yes, Kona Brewing, the Hawaiian-based beer is going out in the South Bay for Cinco de Mayo. You’re invited to come along to all the bars or meet in one of them. Along the way there will be not specials on cervezas but on the “liquid aloha” that is the Kona beers.
Here’s the schedule
– 4:30 p.m. – The Deck, Hermosa Beach Strand. Kona draft beers
– 5:30 p.m. – The Standing Room, Hermosa Ave. Kona draft beers
– 7 p.m. – Waterman’s, Hermosa Beach Pier Plaza. Select Kona Castaway IPA and Longboard Lager draft beers
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can hop on your Kona Brewing bicycle to The Shack in Playa Del Rey at 3 o’clock and join in from the start of the adventure.

Also in Hermosa, Sharkeez is having a a chili-eating contest with $1,000 in cash and prizes and a special of any drink of any size for 25 cents with the purchase of one drink. This is good from Happy Hour ” ’til we are packed.” Its normal Happy Hour is from 3-7 p.m.
Plus, it’s Happy Hour at Waterman’s and The Mermaid until 7 p.m., and at Patrick Molloy’s until 7 p.m.
Talk about a #ThirstyThursday in the South Bay! Just be sure and wear your sombrero. Pancho and fake mustache are optional – but encouraged!
