The beautiful California coastal town of Half Moon May Coastside – 30 miles south of San Francisco – is open for business and is welcoming tourists to visit.

Visitors from within the state of California are permitted to immediately take advantage of the spectacular coastal scenery and activities, plus the restaurants, shops and stay in the hotels. People arriving from out of state are encouraged to quarantine for 10 days before visiting any destination in the state.

All businesses have health and safety protocols in place according to the guidelines of the San Mateo County Health Department.

“We are so happy to welcome back visitors to the Half Moon Bay Coastside,” says Krystlyn Giedt, President & CEO of the Half Moon Bay Coastside Chamber of Commerce & Visitors’ Bureau. “Our area offers the best of Northern California in one place with an array of safe socially-distanced outdoor adventures.”

Outside Activities
There is no shortage of things to do in Half Moon Bay.  There are more than 25 miles of beaches and hundreds of hiking and biking trails plus golfing, kayaking, and paddle boarding and even horseback riding on the beach.

The Perfect Roadtrip
Regarded as one of the most scenic routes in the world, California’s coast-hugging Rt. 1 winds directly through the Half Moon Bay Coastside. The 1.3 mile Devil’s Slide Trail is the only part of Hwy. 1 that is closed to cars, allowing visitors to walk and bike along some of the dramatic coastline. The ocean is home to harbor seals, bottlenose dolphins, sea lions, northern elephant seals and whales.

A Wide Range of Accommodations
From five-star luxury resorts to intimate inns and seaside retreats, there are all kinds of accommodations options.  To make hotel reservations, click here.

The Cuisine
The Coastside has fresh products from the local farms, docks and ranches. Diners can choose from food from around the world such as Italian, Mediterranean, French, Thai, Indian and more. Restaurants are open for outdoor dining and takeout/delivery.

Artisan Shopping
Historic Main Street has unique artisan shops, gift stores, surf shops, bookstores, art galleries, and tasting rooms. Retail businesses are open for in-store shopping at 25% of normal capacity.

Please note that individual businesses are open on their own schedule. For more information on what travelers can expect when visiting the Half Moon Bay Coastside, click here or call (650) 726-8380.
