Local Craft Breweries, Artists & Music In L.A’s South Bay On Summer Thursdays

Hosted by Rob Ruben’s Distilling & Brewing of El Segundo, the beer garden features it’s locally-brewed beer, food, a DJ and two artists.
Organizers are using this as a beginning and ending point for the event, which takes place the third Thursday in June, July and August. The other dates are July 20 and Aug. 17. The location is 305 Richmond Street in downtown El Segundo.
It also typifies what this event is all about – a showcase of artwork, locally-brewed beers, some wines, local businesses (some in the tech industry and some others dealing in TV and movie production) and the emerging social scene in this rapidly-growing singles spot of the Los Angeles South Bay.

The events run from 5-9 p.m., and involve many of the businesses spread out from downtown to the former military area of the back streets toward PCH. You can walk them all but some are a bit of a distance (10 minutes or so), and there’s a free shuttle if you want one.
Unlike in past years, not every place has something to make you stay. Few places still have little stations pouring small cups of wine or beers. A few have music – sometimes featuring local musicians – and artists.
Still, for the businesses, it’s a showcase to people who may not know about them and, of course, to make potential customers aware they exist in the first place.
For people who attend, the Art Walk is a casual, fun Thursday evening that involves going out and socializing in a different atmosphere than going to a bar.
PubClub.com has a review of this event with suggestions on the best places to go during the Art Walk. One location even occasionally brings in trapeze artists who hang and spin from the ceiling. To read the review, click here.
