Fiesta Hermosa Labor Day 2017 Lineup Includes Local Bands Barley & Phoenix Rising

Annual Festival Features Hermosa Beach Acts; Full Lineup Here

Two “rising” local bands are the musical highlights of the lineup of live performances at the 2017 Fiesta Hermosa festival, taking place on Labor Day Weekend.

Barley and Phoenix Rising, both of Hermosa Beach, are playing the three-day event that features a main stage at the base of the Hermosa Beach (CA) Pier and a second stage in a parking lot behind the restaurants and bars of Pier Plaza in a beer and wine garden.

In between are hundreds of craft and arts booths and thousands of people strolling around, shopping, eating and drinking in the bars and restaurants and listening to the music. This is a free event.

Barley, which played the KAABOO Music Festival in San Diego last fall the same day as Jimmy Buffett, is a regular at the Lighthouse in Hermosa, kicks off the entire music weekend by playing the opening set at the pier. It has done this in the past, and it goes from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

Barley plays a mix of fun cover songs as well as creative originals (a PubClub.com favorite is “Up North” about traveling to Northern California). Its sound is that of soft rock building to high energy that involves a fusion of folk music and reggae.

Phoenix Rising features the big voice of Tatiana, the Brazilian Bombshell, and a collection of rocking South Bay musicians. They head up the Thursday open stage nights at the Standing Room. It’s Fiesta Hermosa show is Saturday afternoon in the beer and wine garden.
