PUBCLUB.COM SOCIAL MEDIA HASHTAG
PubClub.com now has it’s own social media hashtag, all official and registered. It’s #pubclub so use it in your Twitter and Instagram posts! Another one which is popular on Instagram is #pubclublifestyle. I’ll be using both throughout the weekend, along with #FiestaHermosa and #HermosaBeach, for posts from the stages, Pier Plaza, the beer garden and beyond.
FIESTA HERMOSA 2016
Our three-day Memorial Day free festival is Saturday, Sunday and Monday with two stages of bands and the beer & wine garden!
The bands include the highly entertaining Elvis full-on stage show Graceband (Saturday, 11 a.m., Pier Plaza) and our own awesome locals artists Barley (Sunday, 11:30 a.m., and guys be sure and check out the bass player!) and Shari “El” Puorto (Monday, 11:30 a.m.) in the beer garden. Here’s the full schedule:
• Fiesta Hermosa Bands Lineup & Schedule
Saturday, you’re invited to continue the party at Standing Room, where we’ll be celebrating Angie Carry’s birthday and enjoying a special Happy Hour just for us until 8 p.m.

INDY 500 2016
The 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 is Sunday morning (“gentlemen start your engines” is 9:15 a.m.), and I’m thrilled that my buddy James Hinchcliff is on the pole. James is one of the nicest athletes in any sport and even took the time to respond to my congratulatory text, saying he hopes to “keep it rollling” on Sunday.
FREE DAY ABOARD THE QUEEN MARY
If you’ve ever wanted to go on board the Queen Mary, Friday is the day to do it. Because it’s free! (Normally it’s 27 bucks.) Officials are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Queen’s maiden voyage.
Walking her decks is an historical walk through time – there’s photos of Frank Sinatra and Winston Churchill on board – and the Observation Bar in the front of the ship, which looks out over Long Beach’s waterfront, is good place to have a drink.
MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND MIMOSA SUGGESTIONS
Before downing your Kona beers in the afternoon and evening, here’s where to start your weekend day with breakfast and mimosas at several South Bay places: comped for one hour at Sharkeez (until 11:30) and Molloy’s (noon) and bottomless at American Junkie ($10 until 2 p.m., $8 breakfast buffet until noon), and $15 at BALEENKitchen (that’s the Portofino) until 2 p.m., and at R10 (that’s the beautiful bar on the Redondo Pier on the way to Naja’s and The Slip) until 3 p.m.
SPAZMATICS AT SAINT ROCKE & OTHER SOUTH BAY SOUNDS
They are playing Friday at 9. $15. Also, there’s a good Led Zeppelin cover band that plays every Sunday afternoon (4-7) at the raunchy Starboard Attitude on the Redondo Beach Pier. Just across from this, there’s also live music at The Boogie (reggae is Friday night) and there’s no cover at either place.
TOPANGA DAYS 2016
If you’re looking to take a break from the South Bay for a day – or, perhaps, just get in touch with your inner hippie self – then Topanga Days is taking place in Topanga Canyon. Here’s more about it.
