Hermosa Beach Smackfest Beach Volleyball Classes & Leagues Return

South Bay Social Recreation Is Back, Followed By Bar Specials At Sharkeez & Tower 12

Beach volleyball classes and leagues are back in Hermosa Beach as Smackfest Events has classes scheduled and Prank Monkey has its leagues ready to return.

Below are the dates and details, along with signup information. The kickball league is sold out.

Smackfest Classes

Classes begin Thursday, April 8, at 6 p.m., and Saturday the 10th at 9:30 a.m.

They are held at on the south end of the Hermosa Beach Pier and are for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

The cost is $85 plus city fees for six weeks. If you miss a week, you can make up on the other day. Besides taking your game to the next level, you’ll also get in a good workout and meet some amazing people – this is, in fact, one of the best ways to meet fun people in the South Bay.

You can then go socialize with everyone at the weekly post-class gatherings at Sharkeez Hermosa with specials just for class members on Michelob Ultra, Michelob Ultra Seltzers, Jager, Grey Goose, Cazedores margies, and R6 Caramela Whiskey, as well as 20% off food.

Note: This year organizers are splitting the Sat. class up into three levels (not combining Int/Adv). They are also following Covid protocals as per the city, so bring a mask, sanitizer, etc).

Smackfest/Prank Monkey Coed 4s Leagues

Tuesday nights are not just for Taco Tuesday now, as the Smackfest/Prank Money coed 4s leagues are back on the beach.

The format is best two-out-of-three and alllevels of play are welcome. Games range from casual to competitive as determined by the players.

Each team must have two male players and two female players with a maximum of two men on the court during games. Rules are loose – indoor rules. Registration offered as a team only, tho individuals can contact kimberly.roscoe1225@gmail.com to be placed on a team.

Spots and teams will sell out so don’t hesitate to sign up and don’t be shy because like the classes, the leagues are a great way to meet single people in the South Bay.

At sunset the games may end on the beach but they continue at Tower 12 with specials on Michelob Ultra, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra Seltzer, Jagermeister, Grey Goose, Cazedores, R6 Distillery, plus 20% off food.
