Pier Plaza Bar Celebrates Two Decades In The South Bay

It’s having a special party on Thursday, Aug. 25. It will feature Happy Hour all night, DJ Joe Sol and a lot of fun. It starts at 9 p.m. Prior to 9 there’s a invitation-only event for select guests (yes, including PubClub.com!).
The part is free; and it’s advised to arrive for the start of it because this popular bar may well have a line for it later in the night.
In some ways, it’s hard to believe Molloy’s has been in Hermosa for nearly a quarter of a century. In other ways, it’s been there so long it’s hard to imagine Hermosa without it. Malloy’s is one of the “go-to” places, which locals always check out when making the rounds at the pier. Often, this leads to having a seat at the bar, a table or on the patio for several rounds of beers.
The bar with the longest daily Happy Hour at the pier – and an all-day Happy Hour on Mondays and a rockin’ Sunday night with $3 beers and $4 well drinks – is going as strong as ever in 2016. Together with its neighbor Sharkeez, it holds down the pier night after night and, on weekends, even in the daytime.
Bar and pub by day and club at night with a DJ – topped with a popular never-ending one-man-band on Sunday nights – Molloy’s has brought nightlife and entertainment to Hermosa since the inception of the pedestrian-only remake of Pier Plaza.
In an area where finding a place to drink is as easy as walking out the door, Patrick Molloy’s has not only endured but thrived for 20 years. And on the one date in August, it’s going to celebrate that success with its customers.
