Another great event!
I could end PubClub.com’s review of the Smackfest Events Spring Fling – a unique combination of beach volleyball with a beer, wine and spirits festival held on the sunny and sandy grounds of Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach, CA – right there.
And then let these photos and video finish the story.
Instead, tho, I am providing a verbal description so those there can relive it, those who were not there can make sure they are there for the next one and those who are not even from the area and read this post might start considering it to visit the Hermosa Beach/Redondo Beach area of Los Angeles to go to a future one.
I went with PubClub.com photographer “Wild Dog” (a well-earned nickname and a blast of a friend to hang out with, especially at beer and wine festivals!) and it took us, oh, about 30 seconds to start having fun.
We began the day hanging out in the beer area. There were about 20 beers being poured, mostly craft beers with the exception being event sponsor Michelob Ultra. In front of us were the beach volleyball courts and in true Smackfest tradition, several teams were in themed costumes.
A DJ was pumping all kinds of rockin’ music that hit the fun party chords of every musical taste, people were sampling wine, spirits (there were a couple dozen spirts being poured from rum to vodka to spritzers) and in between it all, some folks played a very creative putt-putt golf course. Often with a beer or cocktail in one hand.
For those with the munchies, there were food stations, which very kindly continued to serve until after last call for the alcohol.
For me, who fairly recently located from the Beach Cities to San Diego, it was great to see and catch up with several South Bay friends who were at the event. As well as heck, drinking beers outside in such a fun and friendly setting with hundreds of people and a DJ. Who can’t like that, really!?
As is always the case at Smackfest Events happenings, there were several “South Bay pretty” girls both in attendance and pouring the beers, spirits and wines. Sometimes, I felt as if my head were on a swivel! And I’m sure there were many fine-looking dudes in attendance. With all that beer, no doubt!
There are several more happenings organized by Smackfest Events this summer, including its very social beach volleyball classes and tournaments and kickball on the sand (yes, kickball!) league.
The date of Smackfest 2022, presented by Michelob Ultra and Smackfest Sportswear is Saturday, July 30 at the Hermosa Beach Pier.
