Downtown Restaurant Will Have Its Own Produce & Vegetable Garden

Manhattan Beach, Cali, the beautiful little beach town on the Southern California coast, is getting another high-end restaurant.
Already home to the likes of MB Post, Strand House and Fonz’s steak house, slated to join them is SLAY Steak + Fish House. Occupying the building formerly used by Darren’s on Manhattan Ave., just around the corner from the pier and a block north of the always-popular Mama D’s, it is scheduled to open sometime in May.
It is is the newest venture from Chef David Slay, owner of Park Ave Steaks & Chops and il garage ristorante in Orange County, as well as the owner of Slay Estate & Vineyard in Santa Barbara.
The restaurant will feature grass-fed beef, sustainable seafood and multiple vegan options, as well as a locally sourced vegetables. In fact, it will get its vegetables and produce from its own organic garden.
“Our family is local to Manhattan Beach, so it is an honor and a privilege to open an exciting new restaurant here,” Slay said. “The experience will embrace locally-sourced foods as well as an ambiance that is at once friendly and upscale.”
Pinot Noir and Chardonnay under the Slay and Slayer brands from the Slay Estate and Vineyard will be served at the restaurant.
