Drinks & A DJ & At The Skydeck Lounge

They are the first Sunday of each month, with the dates being June 5, July 3 (yes, on Fourth of July weekend!), Aug. 7 and Sept. 4. They are held on the hotel’s Skydeck and features a bar, DJ and a special menu provided by the hotel’s fun-loving chef Ashley Oats.
It goes from 1 p.m.-dusk (sunsets are at approximately 7:30) and there is no admission charge.
This is open to anyone and it’s a rare treat, as the rooftop is normally reserved for hotel guests and special events.
There are also not very many pools in the South Bay, so that’s different, as well. Yes, we have a beach here but not any pools open to the public. Here, you can wear your bikinis or board shorts and go for a swim without having to dodge surfers, kids and ocean waves.
This isn’t exactly Rehab in Vegas but more of a subtle European type of vibe. In other words, enjoy it but act like you’ve been there before, of course.
“Spending time with friends by a rooftop pool while enjoying food, drinks and good music is the perfect way to enjoy a summer Sunday,” said Shaunna McKelvey, Shade’s general manager. “We look forward to providing our guests and visitors with memorable summer sunsets.”
This is similar to what the Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach will be doing when it opens, which is now targeted for September. It’s coming along nicely, by the way, as many rooms are completed heading into the summer.
