Newport Beach Craft Beer Festival Also Features Tribute Bands & Local Food Trucks
You’re going to be drinking beer on Memorial Day Weekend anyway, so might as well do it with a couple thousand other people at a craft beer, festival, right?
The Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is again hosting the Newport Beach Beerfest on Saturday, May 27. Lasting from 7-10 p.m., it features unlimited samples of more than 150 craft beers, plus wines and spirits. Last year, more than 150 kegs were consumed at this event.
More than 60 participating breweries are pouring this year, including Stone Brewing Co., Bootlegger’s Brewery, Hangar 24, Valiant Brewing Company, Left Coast Brewing Co., and Elysian Brewing Company.
This all-inclusive event features unlimited tastes of craft beer, wines and spirits and a food truck tasting village with 15 Southern California food trucks, including Bacon Nation, Rain Cajun, Mess Hall, Eat em Up and Mexico Calbi.
There is also live entertainment by the cleverly-named The Black Eyed Tease, a tribute band to The Black Eyed Peas; and No Duh, the renowned No Doubt tribute band. Additionally, Bass Punks DJ spins a party mix to get people on the dance floor.
Event proceeds support the 1/1 Marine Foundation of Newport Beach, a non-profit organization with the mission to provide community and financial support to the men and families of the 1st Battalion, 1st Marines both during overseas deployments and when training for the next deployment.
Tickets are $35 for general admission and $50 for VIP admission. Purchase of VIP ticket grants one-hour early admission at 6 p.m., access to a special VIP lounge with exclusive beer tastings, and even more entertainment.
Newport Dunes is located along the Bay Bay of Newport Beach, on Jamboree , just east of Pacific Coast Highway. It’s location makes it ideal to stop first for a late lunch at its Back Bay Bistro before going to Beerfest.
There are also cottages for rent, which might be a good idea considering the number of beers at the festival.
