Newport Beach Event Features Chefs, Wineries & Cocktails

Here’s everything you need to know about this event.
Dates: Aug. 19-20
Times: 2-5 p.m. VIP entrance is at 1 p.m.
Location: Newport Dunes on the back bay of Newport Beach, CA

Parking: Limited at Newport Dunes; it’s recommended to Uber or Lyft (plus, you’re drinking!)
Chefs: Among the many chefs doing demonstrations and preparing dishes are: Linda Johnson of Filmoenta’s Italian Kitchen, Cathy Pavlos of Provenance Restaurant, Eric Mickle of Orange Hill Restaurant, Jose Rodriguez of Sunset Grill, Mark McDonald of Old Vine Cafe, Tim Mayer of Sea Salt and Adrian Gracia of Red O.
Wineries: Approximately 45 wineries; among those pouring are Robert Mondavi, Francis Ford Coppola, Ferrari, Francsician Estate, Layer Cake, Pommery Champagne and Wilson Creek.
Cocktails: Speciality drinks made from Bacardi Untameable, Maker’s Mark, Absolut Elyx and, for those with VIP tickets, Patron.
Crowd & Scene: Pretty much Newport Beach upscale but not snooty. Dress is classy casual.
Tickets: $150 single/day, $250 for both days. VIP: $350 for the weekend
After The Event Parties: Just because the event is over for the day doesn’t mean you are, and here there are designated after-event parties. Fig & Olive in Fashion Island is having a post-event Happy Hour with a DJ from 4-7 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Those from the festival get a free truffle mushroom croquette appetizer. On Saturday, Hook & Spear restaurant in the Newport Beach Marriott has a cocktail reception starting at 6:30, followed by a special dinner prepared by Chef Andy Arndt at 7:30.
