Nittany Lions Cheerleaders, Blue Band & Fans Gathering At LA Live In DTLA
And they are gathering the day before the game at the official Penn State pep rally, scheduled for Jan. 1 at LA Live in downtown Los Angeles (across from Staples Center) starting at 2:30 p.m.
Sponsored by the Alumni Association, the Penn State Pep Rally features the Penn State Blue Band, cheerleaders, Lionettes, Nittany Lion, and “a number of special guests” according to the alumni asscoationn.
The pep rally is free and open to all Penn Staters. They will also surely welcome others and LA locals, for Penn State has some of the friendliest fans in college football.
Entrance for the pep rally will be at the intersection of Chick Hearn Court and Georgia Street. The best parking is lots along Figueroa Street and the LA Convention Center, just south of Staples. DO NO T park at LA Live for it is very expensive.
The LA Metro goes there too, with a stop at Pico. From Pasadena, take the Red Line to 7th Street (and you can walk from there, about 15 minutes) or transfer to the Blue Line to Pico. From SAnta Monica, the Metro does past the USC campus to Pico.
The official hashtag for the event is #PSUPepRally. Check out the Alumni Association’s bowl website—alumni.psu.edu/bowl2017—and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram sites leading up to Rose Bowl about the pep rally and other Penn State events.
Space is still available for the Penn State Pregame Event from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Jan. 2 that includes a buffet-style lunch, beverages, and special appearances by the Penn State Pep Band, cheerleaders, and more. For details, visit primesport.com/pennstate.
Penn State, ranked #5, will be making its fourth Rose Bowl appearance; the others have come in 1923, 1995, 2009 and 2017.
