Seaside Lagoon Event Is Sept. 21-23 Featuring Bugs, Beers And Bands
The 2018 lobster festival in Redondo Beach is called Lobster Rock, and it takes place Sept. 21-23 in the same location as the past bugs, beers and bands events, in Seaside Lagoon.
This is an independent event, not run by the Redondo Chamber so it there’s a few differences, most notably in the lobsters and the food.
The lobsters are not flown in from Maine specifically for the event, but are provided by Quality Seafood on the Redondo Beach Pier.
“Our intention is to provide the best possible food options for Lobster Rock so we decided to bring in our favorite local chefs from local restaurants to curate the menu,” said organizer Mike Bouchard.
“Quality Seafood, which is celebrating its 65th year of operation in Redondo Beach, is serving the traditional whole-plate lobster dish that many attendees will be expecting at the event. They are offering a one-and-a half-pound whole Maine lobster plate (including sides) for $22. You can make it a 2 lobster plate for just $40.
“Some of the other highlights from the kitchen are a hearty lobster roll from Hudson House and lobster mac ‘n cheese from Brew Port Tap House, as well as fish tacos from Sausal El Segundo, BBQ from Silvio’s Brazilian BBQ, burgers and shrimp dishes from The Standing Room and inspired Italian options from Mama D’s Italian Kitchen.
“These options are in the $8-10 range to encourage attendees to try multiple options.
“There is truly something for everyone.”
No doubt; Hudson House is even offering a vegan coconut ceviche.
There is also music; a DJ each day is followed by three bands, including the very popular Yachtly Crew on Sunday.
