King Harbor Location To Have Rooftop Bars

After years of planning and months of delays – including an unfortunate setback due to a water leak – Shade Hotel in Redondo Beach has finally opened its doors on the doorstep of King Harbor Marina.
The sister property to the highly successful Shade Hotel in neighboring Manhattan Beach, the Redondo location features 54 rooms in a luxury setting. But for the all-important local nightlife scene is provides something the South Bay should have all over the place and has long needed – a big patio overlooking the water.
In this case, it’s a large L-shape concrete deck with views over the sailboats in King Harbor Marina and the nightly sunsets that really make this area shine.
The bar has been a success from the second it opened, too. Dozens of people came by on its opening evening to check it out, and they were not disappointed.

The bar also has “Shade Hour,” a Happy Hour weekdays from 4-6 which has $4 draft beers, $5 wines, $7 cocktails and food for $8-10. On weekend nights, there’s live acoustic music or a DJ playing subtle but cool tunes.
Shade is also set up for events such as weddings and parties and for locals it’s adding sizzle to the South Bay nightlife scene.
The main hotel building includes the AquaDeck, the hotel’s open-air rooftop pool, where weekly seasonal pool parties, open to the public, will begin in 2017.
Shade Hotel Redondo Beach, the second luxury boutique hotel of the Zislis Group Shade brand, will serve as a premiere property on the forefront of the Redondo Beach Waterfront Revitalization Project.
“Shade Redondo Beach is the best work of my career and we are thrilled to announce that the second Shade Hotel will officially open in this beautiful beach community,” said Zislis, “Despite the setbacks we encountered during construction, we are pleased that Shade will open before the season’s end, as well as excited to introduce ourselves to our newest neighbors.”
