Fun In The Sun On Another South Bay #SundayFunday

The weather forecast is so spectacular, you may think you’re in the middle of July rather than the first weekend of February.
Sunday is to be the best day of a spectacular weather week. The high is to reach a summer-like 77 degrees. The low is forecast for 52. The race-time temperature will be in the upper 50s but will soon warm up and should be sunny and in the mid-60s by the finish.
In other words, it’s perfect beer-drinking weather by the time you reach the beer garden.
The week building up to the 10K is full of sunshine, with daytime temperatures going from the upper 60s to the mid 70s to the upper 70s, reaching a crescendo on Sunday.
The spectacular Sunday is just a week removed from a cool, rainy and windy Sunday when the South Bay and Redondo Beach in particular was pounded by heavy winds and lively surf pounding over the King Harbor breakwall,
The Redondo Beach Super Bowl 10K is a highly popular run and walk that attracts some 7,000 people. Costumes are popular and there is a very lively post-race beer garden. It starts at 7:30 with the 5K run/walk and the 10K starts at 8:30 a.m.
The route starts in King Harbor, goes down Harbor Drive, up 19oth Street, down Catalina Ave., around Riviera Village, down the Esplanade – which will be incredibly scenic on this cloudless, sunny day– and back to King Harbor.
Neighbors line the streets, play music and there’s a small band at the finish line.
The beer garden is in Seaside Lagoon. The beer garden prime time is 9:30-10:45ish; it breaks up about 11. Rummers get two Michelob Ultra beers for running (or walking).
