Los Angeles Restaurant Provides Meals To Local Health Workers
The San Pedro Fish Market is known primarily for its world Famous Shrimp Tray – a feast that’s a mound of grilled shrimp with the restaurant’s secret seasoning – and it has teamed up with the Local 94 ILWU Foreman’s Union to donate more than 2,000 of those meals to local first responders at medical facilities.
San Pedro Fish Market and ILWU Local 94 provided World Famous Shrimp Trays to first responders at Long Beach Memorial Hospital, LA County USC Medical Center, South Bay Medical Center – Kaiser Permanente, Harbor UCLA Medical Center Trauma Center, San Pedro Hospital, LA Fire Station 85, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center.
The meal donations were a gesture of gratitude for the dedicated and hardworking medical workers and first responders according to the restaurant.
“The San Pedro Fish Market philosophy has always been to care for the community like your family because that’s exactly what they are,” said Mike Ungaro, CEO of San Pedro Fish Market. “The ILWU is not only part of our family, it’s an integral part of the community’s foundation. We’re proud to partner with them to support the medical community.”
“The first responders, doctors and nurses of the Harbor Community have always provided tremendous care to the longshoremen, marine clerks and foremen. During this unprecedented crisis created by COVID-19, we’re proud to be able to give back and support the medical community,” added Danny Miranda, President of ILWU Local 94. “Our partnership with San Pedro Fish Market means we’re able to support a local business at the same time.”
To date, San Pedro Fish Market has donated more than 4,000 meals to front line healthcare responders across Long Beach, San Pedro and Los Angeles communities.
