Small Earthquake Hits Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach In Los Angeles

Residents React To Shaking On Social Media

A small earthquake – a magnitude 2.1 – hit the Los Angeles coastal cities of Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach late Tuesday evening.

The slight tremor was located on the border between the two cities, located in the South Bay area of Los Angeles.  It occurred at a little past 10 p.m.

Residents reported only slight shaking. Here is PubClub’s Twitter post immediately after the earthquake, along with some responses to it.

Two powerful earthquakes rattled an area northeast of Los Angeles last week, causing only limited damage and no loss of life due to their remote locations in the high desert. Only a few people felt them in the South Bay and it is extremely rare for one to be centered in this area.
