Octoberfest Pub Crawl Benefits Breast Cancer

Have you seen a keg around here lately?
That’s what people will be saying on Saturday, Oct. 17, in El Segundo, CA, as they go through the small town just south of LAX looking for hidden (and empty) kegs of beer.
But not to worry, there’s plenty to drink because teams must get their clues to find the kegs in the bars.
It’s the Kegtoberfest Keg Hunt with all six of downtown El Segundo’s bars participating and about 100 keg hunters in teams of two hunting for five wood Sam Adams kegs hidden all over downtown.
The first team to find and unlock each keg wins a prize package of gift certificates from every location, along with other cool prizes.
Even the people who don’t find a keg first still get a raffle ticket to win other prizes.
It cost $30 for a team of two in order to enter, and all proceeds will be donated to the fight against breast cancer.
Orientation begins at The Tavern on Main at Noon and participants will be sent to their starting bars by 1:30.
The Keg Hunt starts at 2 and goes until about 5 p.m.
If you don’t want to hunt, you can just go bar hopping in El Segundo, which is pretty much what this is anyway, an excuse for an afternoon pub crawl.
As an additional element, teams are dressed up in Oktoberfest, Halloween or themed costumes. Each team has its own theme.
