Expo Brings Together Vendors With Future Brides & Grooms

A place that holds weddings is also now a place that hosts wedding planning events.
Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach in the Los Angeles area are places where “Here Comes The Bride” can be heard on occasion – the latter has two levels devoted to special events such as weddings – and in February each location held a wedding expo for future brides and grooms.
There was champagne, slices of wedding cake, sweets, music (both pre-wedding subtle and post-wedding reception dance party) and more than two dozen vendors making themselves and their businesses known to those planning weddings. There were wedding photographers, video photographers, planners, flower providers, makeup artists and bridesmaids outfitters.
Among the vendors on display were Rock ‘n Events, deLuxe Events, Queen Sugar Goodies and Hitched Photo.
In other words, there was pretty much anything one could want for a wedding. Except swans. Yes, swans! (Whenever I hear the words “wedding planner” or “wedding planning” I can’t help but think of Marin Short’s hilarious character in Father Of The Bride).

As far as venues – where to have that wedding and reception – then obviously Shade was showcasing itself. The Redondo Beach location overlooks a harbor full of boats in King Harbor Marina and, depending on the timing and time of the year, you may be presented with a sunset as a beautiful bonus.
And, of course, there’s the adjacent hotel, which makes for a very convenient pre- and post-wedding gathering place for those in the wedding party and out-of-town guests.

The location has another bonus, as well: the Southern California weather. With 325 days of annual sunshine, there is little need for those in the wedding to worry about things like rain.
As far as the swans, well, you might have to get permission from the city of Redondo Beach to put them in King Harbor. I’m sure the boaters would not mind, tho.
