California Wines & Craft Beers To Be Featured At Inaugural Event

The resounding success of the Trump National Wine & Beer Festival – which will be entering its eighth year in 2016 – has spawned the creation of a similar event in Redondo Beach.
And it’s put on by the same people who bring Smackfest to Hermosa Beach.
It’s the inaugural South Bay Wine & Beer Festival from Smackfest Events and it is scheduled for Saturday, May 14. The location is Bay Club, the health club in Redondo Beach, along the bike path just past the Hermosa Beach border.
It would be held at the pool and adjacent outdoor deck with views of the boats in King Harbor Marina.
“The Trump festival is such a great event, we wanted to do something like that,” said Smackfest Events founder Bill Sigler. “Trump sells out every year and very quickly, so it’s obviously something that’s popular here in the South Bay, and we thought it would be good to create a second event to compliment it.”
Like the Trump National festival, the Smackfest event will feature wines from California and craft beers. Ticket prices are yet to be determined. Stay tuned to PubClub.com for information on tickets and when they go on sale.
Holding a wine & beer festival is one example in which Smackfest Events wants to grow and expand in the South Bay. It’s looking at hosting more social gatherings that go beyond its traditional volleyball roots.
In February, it hosted the inaugural Bay Club Olympics, a kind of sporting event mixed in with outdoor cocktailing and socializing. Look for that event to grow tremendously in the coming years.
The wine and beer festival, if the Trump event is any indication, should be an immediate success.
The date for Smackfest, in case you are wondering, is either July 16 or 23.
