Events & Happenings In Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach & Redondo Beach
Welcome to the PubClub.com South Bay Party Report!
This Party Report is being posted on a Thursday for a reason – it’s National Beer Day!!! And PubClub.com has this exclusive story from the very man who invented it, who explains how it came about to be, and why it’s on April 7. Cheers to beers!

310YP MIXER THURSDAY
Here’s a good event to drink beer at tonite, the 310YP mixer. Yes, it’s the first Thursday of the month and this month the excellent social and networking organization is back at Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach.
It’s from 6-9 and it’s free. From recent experiences, it seems to reach its peak between 7-9. These mixers are outstanding from both a business and mingling standpoint and provide a great way to start what appears is going to be a wet (but wild???) weekend.

LIVE MUSIC IN THE SOUTH BAY
Led Zepaggain is at Saint Rocke on Friday ($20) and Mustache Harbor – which plays a mix of Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan and and Christopher Cross – is Saturday ($10)…There are also bands at Standing Room, Lighthouse Café, Hermosa Saloon, The Slip on Saturday night and “Soulful Sundays” at The Boogie on the Redondo Beach Pier (8 p.m., no cover).
Speaking of live music, PubClub wants to give a shoutout to the South Bay’s own Amanda – Addey Lane – who is making music and music videos. Here’s her latest on YouTube.
WEEKEND LOS ANGELES EVENTS
Here’s a couple of things that would normally be good to check out on a sunny weekend, but may not be so great in the rain. Still, they are happening in the LA area: the Santa Anita Derby with the KROQ Craft Beer Fest is Saturday ($5) and Formula Drift – a cool kind of racing in which souped-up passenger cars “drift” through the turns – is in Long Beach this Friday and Saturday ($40).
WEEKEND SPORTS ON TV
Failing the above or going to any other events or activities due to the weather, this is a good weekend for sports on TV. The Masters is this weekend (no Tiger Woods, tho) and the Golden State Warriors try to beat the Bulls for the NBA regular-season record of 73 wins; they play the Spurs tonite (7:30), the Grizzlies on Saturday (5 p.m.) and the Spurs again on Sunday (4 p.m.). Currently the Warriors have 69 wins. The Lakers, by contrast, have 16 and are DLF in the West.
BEACH CITIES WINE & FESTIVAL TICKETS
Don’t forget, tickets to the inaugural Beach Cities Wine & Beer Festival – coming up on May 14 – go on sale tax day, April 15! That’s next Friday.
