RIVIERA VILLAGE SUMMER FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND
The Fiesta Hermosa of Redondo Beach’s Riviera Village is this weekend. It’s called the Summer Festival and while it’s nowhere near as big as Fiesta Hermosa, it does have a row of tents and some restaurants actually put bars out into the street.
Plus, there’s a beer garden with bands, which this year features Jeremy Buck who will be joined by his self-proclaimed mentor Moe Z on Saturday from 2:30-4:30, followed by local favorite Barley from 5:30-7:30.
Sunday it’s Sgt. Pepper’s Beatles Tribute Band (10:30), Feed The Kitty (1:30-3:30) and a crazy-sounding band called The Spicolies from 4:30-6:30.
The beer garden and bands are at Catalina Ave, and Ave. I. The festival and the bands are free. The beer is not, of course.

GETTING OUT OF THE BUBBLE – MARINA DEL REY
I’m starting a regular feature on PubClub.com called “Getting Out Of The Bubble.”
I thought about this on Saturday while riding my bike up to Marina del Rey to get some photos of the tour and sunset cocktail cruise boats that are now operating for the summertime.
When I got there, the marina was buzzing with so much boating activity in the channel it reminded me of the water scene in Caddyshack –” hey, you scratched my anchor!” So here’s what I saw and experienced and why it’s so good to get out of the South Bay Bubble at times.
