Hermosa Beach Parade & Saint Rocke Benefit On #SundayFunday
Here’s what’s happening in the South Beach Beach Cities of Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach & Redondo Beach for the weekend of March 11-13.
ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE HERMOSA BEACH
We don’t live in a “Dirty Old Town,” tho sometimes it’s like we live in a place where it’s easy to have “Seven Drunken Nights.” And where the hell is “Alice!? Alice!!??”
Saturday, St. Patrick’s Day arrives in the South Bay with the St. Paddy’s Parade in Hermosa Beach. Don’t think this is anything like the parades in Chicago and even where I used to live in Savannah, GA. For one, we don’t dye the ocean green.
But it gets a couple thousand people out to the pier area on a late Saturday morning, house parties spring up as a result and the bars become lively with lads and lasses drinking green beer.
I’ll be in the parade, riding along with Hermosa Cyclery and representing my Beach Cities Bike Tours (did I mention the tour is great for corporate outings!?). Here’s all the deets and details on the St. Paddy’s parade in Hermosa Beach, the bars, the scene and the silliness of it. The actual St. Paddy’s Day, by the way, is next Thursday.

SUNDAY NIGHT BENEFIT SHOW AT SAINT ROCKE
On Sunday, Saint Rocke hosts the album release party of Trusty Versatile Entertainment – that’s our buddy Soul Cole for those of you who may not know – for its “Songs For Save, Volume 2.” Sales from the CD go to fighting pediatric cancer.
There’s a red carpet photo event from 6-7, complimentary champagne and appetizers from 6:30-7:30, live music from 6-8 and 10-11 from our friend Ireesh and free dessert from 10-11. Gift bags for the first 20 people who purchase the album. All proceeds go to LA Children’s Hospital & St. Jude’s. Tickets: $7 advance, $10 at door.

MARCH MADNESS
Don’t forget to get in a pool (not swimming, although that’s a good idea, too!) for March Madness, which starts next week! UCLA will not be in the tournament. USC is still TBD.

LAS VEGAS REPORT – NOT GOOD NEWS
Occasionally, the Party Report ventures out of the South Bay to tell you what’s happening in places where we frequently party. So check this out in Vegas – things that used to be free are no longer free (at least in some places) and those annoying “resort fees” hotels charge are about to cost as much as the actual rooms used to cost.
