South Bay Scream, Bar Costume Contests & West Hollywood Carnvaval

Welcome to the PubClub.com South Bay Party Report – Halloween Edition!
Forget all that scary and screaming stuff, candy and trick or treating. For the South Bay single people, Halloween is all about the party!
I’ll get to that in a moment but first a look back at an event where, as the lyrics by a certain songwriter goes, “I heard I was in town.”
JIMMY BUFFETT IRVINE PARTY BUS REWIND
For those of you on the party bus, all I have to say is Fins UP!!! You were there, you experienced it and know how much fun it was from start to finish. For those of you who missed it, well too bad! From the moment PubClub.com charged into the first group in one of the motorhome rows of the tailgate party, we instantly know what we had been missing since the last time Buffett played Irvine Meadows.
And we got on Art Mann Presents again! He even interviewed PubClubber Stacy. Look for it on AXS TV. And for a review, photos and video of the tailgate scene, click the link. In a word, it was awesome!!!

SHARKEEZ FOR GROUPS
The party bus used Sharkeez Hermosa as our pre-Buffett gathering spot and they were awesome. They gave us Happy Hour drink prices and three huge – and delicious – appetizer platters. It would be nice to say they did this just because it’s PubClub.com, but the reality is they do this for any groups that gather at Sharkeeez. Thanks guys and gals!
TOP 10 SOUTH BAY BARS
I put this link in last week but a some long-time locals have added comments, including some bars I’ve never heard of myself! I’m now working on the Top 10 all-time Manhattan Beach bars. Feel free to add your comments!
SOUTH BAY HALLOWEEN PARTIES & EVENTS

In the South Bay, you can’t hardly walk out the door without running into a Halloween party.
The biggest and baddest of these is South Bay Scream, otherwise known as the Portofino Party. You know the drill – it has two rooms in an oceanside location, DJs, entertainers a lots and lots of drinking singles.
This year, just next door the bar at the Portofino Hotel, BALEENKitchen, is having a pirates and wenches party.
There’s a $5 cover and Happy Hour drink specials all night…Sharkeez has its usual costume parties with drink specials and prizes.
And Grungy Greg is having a house party.
By the way, the “spider house” on The Strand in Hermosa Beach was featured this week on Rick Dickert’s “Rick’s Picks” on the Fox 11 morning news, Good Day L.A. For a complete look at Halloween in the South Bay with all the deets you need, click here:

LOS ANGELES CARNAVAL PARTY REVIEW

The biggest Halloween party in the world is right here (well sort of) in West Hollywood. It’s called Carnaval and it’s a huge block party with more than 300,000 people I’ve gone to it several times and can tell you it’s incredible.
You take your beverage and walk up and down the Santa Monica Blvd., and the costumes are incredible. The trick, of course, is getting there and back and with so much happening in the South Bay, this requires a real party decision.

USA’S TOP HALLOWEEN PARTY DESTINATIONS
And just in case you’re elsewhere or want to consider alternative Halloween party spots for next year, PubClub has compiled this review of the top Halloween party destinations. This includes Vegas, Salem (of course, right!?), Key West for Fantasy Fest and even the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, which actually has nothing to do with Halloween but is still a Bucket List party event.
