Top South Bay Singles Event Features Wineries & Craft Beers

In a way, it’s hard to believe the Trump National Wine & Beer Festival is already in its eighth year.
Yet in another way, it’s hard to believe a summer in the South Bay existed without it. Now it’s a must-do event the third Sunday of August in Palos Verdes, CA.
That’s because in a relatively short period of time, it has become one of the top events in the entire Beach Cities – and beyond – and especially ripe for the many single people in the area. It’s a day of wines, craft beers and views you can’t believe, some even including the ones looking down from the cliff of Palos Verdes.
The 2016 event is Sunday, Aug. 21. It goes from noon-4 p.m. GA ticket holders are advised to arrive by 11:30 a.m.
The classy setting of the event – on the grass of Trump National Golf Club – and the nature of the event are a perfect pairing. There is also nothing else like it in the South Bay, an outdoor wine tasting event on a Sunday afternoon in a location away from the usual drinking spots of Hermosa, Manhattan and Redondo Beach.
Everyone at the event is in a jovial mood (especially after a few samples of wine!) and the craft beer area is a late-afternoon party. The crowd is late 20s to “South Bay 40ish.” There’s a band providing background music and food trucks and even a net for swatting a few golf balls.
In 2016, more than 90 wineries from all over California are participating and among the two dozen craft beers are selections from Kona Brewing Company, which happens to be a favorite of PubClub.com.
Frankly, you’re often caught having so much fun in one area that you have to have to remind yourself to go check out another area. That’s not a problem, as it’s takes about two minutes to walk from the wines to the beers.
The GA tickets, which cost $65, sell out fast as a result. There are usually $350 VIP tickets available which includes Trump’s spectacular Sunday brunch.
