Postcards From Paso Promotion Shows The Area’s Iconic Scenes
Believing in the old adage of “one picture is worth a thousand words,” the wine country area of Paso Robles is reaching out to tell California residents that it is open using an old-fashioned method.
It is sending out postcards.
The Postcards From Paso promotional campaign contains photos of four of the area’s iconic scenes: landscapes from the Super Bloom on Paso’s Shell Creek Road, rolling hills dotted with ancient oaks, the Field of Light at Sensorio and the iconic Downtown Acorn Building.
They are designed in the old-school style and Travel Paso will send them to residents upon request.
Paso Robles’s hotels, vacation rentals and RV resorts are currently booking guests, the restaurants are all open for patio dining and the area’s 250-plus wineries are open for outdoor tastings.
“We wanted a creative way to let Paso’s fans know that we are open, and also engage those who are can’t travel yet and let them know we’re thinking about them,” says Travel Paso’s Executive Director, Stacie Jacob. “We encourage folks to send them to their friends and family. After all, who doesn’t love sending and receiving a postcard.”
What are postcards, you ask? Well, they are pictures of travel destinations printed on a card about the size of an index card. They were long a staple of tourists around the world who would mail them to friends and relatives to shout “look where I am now!”
Today, of course, people do this on social media, but postcards have one clear advantage over digital photos: not only can you send them to people via snail mail but you can also put them on your refrigerator or in picture frames to decorate your house or apartment.
Residents can order through the Postcards from Paso campaign.
And before you visit Paso Robles, you can visit the Travel Paso website.
To get a “taste” of what it’s like in Paso, read PubClub’s post on the many downtown wine tasting rooms. After all, Paso Robles is Central California’s wine tasting area and is known for producing award-winning Pinot noirs.
