Three-Level Yacht To Be Like A Vegas Pool Party
What is San Diego nightlife missing?
How about a little daylife.
Well folks that’s coming in the fall when Pacific Beach tech entrepreneur Brad Hunter launches AQUAlounge, a three-level yacht in Mission Bay that is going to be a like a floating nightclub.
Six years in the making, it will have two bars, private cabanas with bottle service (hey, it’s Vegas style), two decks and a pool. Music will provided by a DJ and there will also be live music and artistic displays. San Diego restaurants will cater food.
AQUAlounge will feature synchronized light shows incorporating several drones, interactive lighting displays, audio and visual components to enhance the music.
“When I started down this path six years ago, my goal was to completely rethink everything about the bay and dinner cruise space—the layout, the experience, the ambiance,” Hunter told Forbes.com in this article.
“I found inspiration on my travels. With so many amazing new dining and entertainment experiences emerging around the world, it feels good to be a part of that revolution and to bring something unique back to San Diego.”
Now you may be asking why this is not launching in the summer, and when Forbes’ Doug Gollan did just that, Hunter responded by saying “designing and building a vessel so far from the industry standards has certainly created a fair amount of challenges.”
The vessel, which will cruise around scenic Mission Bay, will be open to the public and will host host private events. Think dinner cruise for the young (younger?) fun and mostly singles of San Diego. It’s not seasonal, either; with San Diego’s weather, Hunter expects it to be a year-round party.
PubClub.com will look to be adding more details to this post as they are available, such as the hours of operation, the cost to board, drink prices and options and all the other questions you are likely to ask about it.
